Dr. Khushboo Gandhi

Dr. Gandhi’s 15+ year career in dentistry began in India, which is where she completed her first dental degree. After working for several years as a general dentist, she moved to the United States. At first, she worked as a dental assistant. However, in 2011 she began the Advanced Education program for international dentists at the Oklahoma College of Dentistry. After years of hard work, she earned her second dental degree, making her lifelong dream of becoming a dentist a reality for the second time!

Since graduating from dental school, Dr. Gandhi has continued to pursue additional training through world-renowned institutions, like the Baylor College of Dentistry and Spear Education. If that wasn’t impressive enough, she is also certified in Invisalign and nitrous oxide. Plus, she is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Texas Dental Association.

Outside the office is equally as busy for Dr. Gandhi since she and her husband are raising two children. As a family, they enjoy spending lots of time together, especially when it involves going to theme parks. She also likes using her free time to cook – making tasty salsas is her favorite!

By far, the best experience at the dentist I've had. Very polite and courteous staff. They explained things very well and were quite accommodating! I always get nervous when it comes to dentists/doctor visits and they made me feel right at home. Highly recommend!

What Level of Education Is Required to Be a Dentist?

Every dentist in the United States must have received either a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Science (DDS) from one of the 67 accredited dental schools in the country. Dental school is typically three years with a combination of classroom and hands-on learning. There are some dentists who decide to continue their education by earning one of 12 specializations recognized by the American Dental Association, such as orthodontics or pediatric dentistry. All dentists are required to complete a certain number of continuing education hours to keep their licenses.
